TITLE: Parts Manager

REVISED: 12/06/00

REPORTS TO: General Manager/President

POSITION INFORMATION:

Manages department engaged in parts sales for vehicles such as heavy duty trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles.

DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Directs and coordinates activity of workers engaged in the sale, purchasing, stocking, receiving and shipping of parts.
* Monitors operations to ensure that services rendered conform to company policy and standards.
* Resolves customer complaints.
* Reviews and approves credit memos on parts.
* Reviews departmental operational expenses and collection reports for accuracy.
* Projects sales and expenses on a monthly basis.
* Authorizes acquisition of tools, equipment, and parts.

OTHER DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

* Performs other duties as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Performs functions in dealership facility. May be required to spend several hours a day moving throughout dealership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree in Business/Sales Management or equivalent work experience.
Thorough knowledge of computer systems designed for parts sales and inventory controls. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
