SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE

To ensure that a level of zero defect is obtained by using the preventative maintenance system.

Recruits own staff within the salary ranges prescribed by the hotel in agreement with the Human Resource Manager
Discipline and if necessary dismissal of staff, following the company’s procedures
May not make policy or procedural changes without prior approval of the General Manager
May not make statements to the press

MAIN DUTIES

Ensures hotel cleaning contract is adhered to and agreed standards are maintained
Ensure room maintenance specifications of 4 rooms per day is achieved
Prepares Duty Rosters and time sheets for all maintenance staff
Leave schedules for staff
Ensuring sufficient equipment is available so the related trades can carry out their Work
Staff must be skilled for their appropriate trade and safety in the work area must be a priority
Ensure all water features are maintained to standard and services once a month
Maintaining condition of all furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout the hotel
Checking and maintaining all plant room equipment
Monitoring of allocated budget R&M. Thus ensuring no over expenditure occurs
Responsible for all major R&M budgeting, work allocation, contractors, materials and time
Must ensure that hotel is maintained according to NOSA regulations
Negotiate all equipment related outside contracts
